Repair or Replace your AC System

There are a few obvious signs that indicate your AC system needs to be replaced rather than repaired. First, if you spend money each year repairing your AC unit, it may make sense to explore the cost-benefit of investing in a new AC system.

Second, suppose your unit is over ten years old, past its warranty period, and your electric bills keep rising every summer. In that case, it may be time to consider a new, more energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning system.

Installing a new, energy-efficient AC system can reduce energy consumption and make your home more comfortable. A higher SEER-rated furnace and air conditioner will have a better Energy Star rating by the Department of Energy.

Some reasons to replace your AC system:

  • You will have a more energy-efficient system with a higher SEER rating.
  • A higher-rated AC system will increase airflow and comfort.
  • A new AC system will reduce Hot and cold spots in your home.
  • A new AC system will be quieter.
  • A higher-rated AC system will remove more humidity from your home.
  • New AC systems have better filtration systems, leading to cleaner air in your home.
  • New programmable thermostats offer remote control over your AC system.
  • A new warranty will give you years of worry-free comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer AC service in all areas of Sachse?

Yes. We service all of Sachse, including neighborhoods near Bunker Hill, Woodbridge, and along Merritt Road. Whether you need a quick repair or a full system install, our techs are in the area and ready to respond quickly.

Why is my AC turning on and off constantly?

This issue is called short cycling, and it can be caused by an oversized system, a faulty thermostat, or a low refrigerant level. We’ll diagnose the problem and make sure your system runs properly without wasting energy.

Can you replace outdated systems in older homes in Sachse?

We can. If your home was built before central AC was common or still has older ductwork, we’ll inspect the setup and recommend a system that fits the space and performs efficiently. No guesswork, just smart solutions.

Do you offer programmable or smart thermostats with AC installs?

Yes. We install both programmable and smart thermostats that give you control over your home’s comfort and help reduce your energy bills. We’ll help you pick the right model and set it up before we leave.

How does the $5000 rule help with AC decisions?

It’s a simple way to evaluate whether to repair or replace. Multiply the cost of the repair by the age of the unit. If that number is more than 5000, replacement may be the better long-term option. We’ll walk you through both sides and let you decide.

Protecting Your Investment

Properly maintaining your air conditioner and furnace is essential not only to keep the manufacturer’s warranty but also to help reduce the possibility of having expensive AC repair issues during the heat of the summer or the cold of the winter when you need your system the most.

Regular, semi-annual 18-point heating and air conditioning check-ups will help identify minor issues before they become expensive problems at the most inopportune times.  AC check-ups, which some companies call an AC Tune-Up, although nothing gets Tuned-Up in an air conditioning system, are necessary to maintain your warranty and help keep your AC system running efficiently for years.

The Mistake Of A Name

Settled by German immigrant William Sachse in 1840, the area NE of Dallas was named after Sachse in 1886 when he gave 100 feet of right-of-way frontage to the railroad, which stretched through all of his property.  In doing so, the railroad built the depot in the area and named the town Sachse; however, due to a mistake, the original signs on the depot read “Saxie.” Although this misspelling was later corrected, the error led to many legal documents incorrectly designating the town as “Saxie.”

Cash Crop

In the mid-1800s, the land in north Texas was rich in cotton, so Sachse built one of the first cotton mills in the county, thereby fostering cotton as the area’s original cash crop.  By the late 1920s, agriculture was undergoing a shift, and onions were plentiful in the area, competing with cotton as the primary cash crop in Sachse, TX.

The Dwindling Population of Sachse

Like most Texas towns, Sachse has evolved over the decades from a small farming community into a thriving city, located just northeast of Dallas.  With a population of 22,457 as of the 2022 census, Sachse now boasts a population of 22,457, making it the 120th largest city in Texas.
